COP30 │ Signing Joint Declaration between ITPC and Greifswald Mire Centre, and Signing of MoU Public–Private Partnership between ITPC and APHI

1. Recognizing the vital role of peatlands at the global, regional, and national levels in addressing climate change, protecting biodiversity, and supporting the livelihoods of indigenous peoples and local communities, the International Tropical Peatlands Center (ITPC) and the Greifswald Mire Centre (GMC) will sign a Joint Declaration to strengthen cooperation in peatland conservation and sustainable management.

2. Recognizing the vital importance of sustainably managing and protecting tropical peatland ecosystems as a key component of global climate change mitigation, and acknowledging the significant role of the private sector in supporting restoration, conservation, and sustainable forest management, the International Tropical Peatlands Center (ITPC) and the Indonesian Forest Concessionaires Association (APHI) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for cooperation in promoting sustainable tropical peatland management.
