World Wetlands Day: Youth for Our Common Future

🌍 World Wetlands Day is celebrated annually to raise global awareness about the critical role of wetlands for people and the planet. This year’s theme, Protecting Wetlands for Our Common Future, highlights the urgent need to conserve these vital ecosystems for their ecological, social, and economic benefits. Wetlands are biodiversity hotspots, natural carbon sinks, and essential for water purification and flood control. However, they are disappearing three times faster than forests, calling for immediate action.

In line with this global movement, the International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences (IAAS)International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA)Youth Engaged in Wetlands (YEW)RE-PEAT, the Global Peatlands Initiative, and Wetlands International are co-organizing the webinar World Wetlands Day: Youth for Our Common Future on  Monday the 3rd of February: 1-2 PM GMT0.

Youth are not just stakeholders but changemakers who bring innovation, passion, and a fresh perspective to conservation efforts. This webinar will showcase inspiring youth-led initiatives from across the globe. 🌿

Join us in celebrating and protecting our wetlands for a sustainable future! You can register for the event here: https://forms.office.com/e/M8evvN903H 🌱
