New Opportunity: Evidence Synthesis and Policy Engagement Training Programme for Peatlands

We are excited to share the launch of the Evidence Synthesis and Policy Engagement Training  Programme for Peatlands, a fully-funded, virtual training opportunity designed to equip researchers with practical skills to address critical global challenges in peatland management and conservation. This training is delivered by the Institute for Methods Innovation, SRUC and St Andrews University, with funding from the UN Environment Programme-led Global Peatlands Initiative and the British Academy

 

Peatlands Evidence Synthesis and Policy Engagement Training Programme

 

About the Programme:

Despite covering just 3% of Earth’s surface, peatlands play a vital role in climate regulation, carbon storage, and biodiversity conservation. This programme empowers researchers to contribute to evidence-based policy through:

Evidence Synthesis: Develop rapid reviews to address key policy-relevant questions.

Policy Engagement: Write briefs that inform decision-making.

Academic Publishing: Co-author peer-reviewed articles with global impact.

 

Who Should Apply?

The programme is open to researchers with PhDs or equivalent experience (at any postdoctoral stage) who are passionate about enhancing their skills and contributing to real-world policy solutions.

  • January 8th: 9:30–10:30 AM ET
  • January 15th: 9:30–10:30 AM UK
  • January 22nd: 11:00 AM–12:00 PM Thailand Time

 

Key Details:

Format: Virtual, combining self-paced modules and live training sessions.

Duration: March–December 2025 (90-hour commitment).

Cost: Fully funded for eligible participants.

Application Deadline: 27 January 2025
